Crank & rod question...

I'm always thankful for those who answer my questions on H/T! I appreciate this website and those who participate.

I finally got this block back from bore & hone (B16A, 81.25, all OEM) https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
Can someone help me clarify the #'s on the Rods to the #'s on the Crank? I have the Pistons already on the Rods but I don't know which Piston down what Cylinder to connect the Rod to the Crank. How do they match again?? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emhammer.gif

The numbers engraved on the side of the rods are either (1, 2, 3 , 4). The rod big end tolerance range is 1.8898 - 1.8906". Rods that are number 1 have a big end of 1.8898 to 1.8900, number 2 are 1.8901 - 1.8902, etc.

The numbers do not have a direct relationship to cylinder number or rod journal number.

as far as i know honda didnt make any markings as to which rod/piston goes in which cylinder, its important to mark them as soon as you pull them out

Re: Crank & rod question... (4g hatch)

Since you completely bored and honed your cylinder...and ur putting new pistons on you rods it really has no effect on where u place the, because ur gonna need to break in the motor...just remember tp check all your clearences even with new bearings and new bores...check ur piston diameter and its taper...and also check the cylinder diameter and taper make sure its within specs, as well as your piston ring gaps...there are specs for those...make sure u have a manuel...go to crx/ef forum under FAQ then download a e-manual make ur life ezier.....
