yeah, like all motor said you should use the ones for GSR/ITR or the kit for ls/b20 with vtec head, but gsr ones are cheaper than the others...

ls headstuds are the same except 2 of the headstuds are longer. the two that go in the middle of the ls head. if you need a set of gsr headstuds I have a set for sale. pm me if interested.

You use the headstuds that work for the head your working with.

GSR head: GSR studs.

b16a/type r: use b16a/type r studs.

Golden eagle is what I recommend....pricey, but well work it.

check my site in my sig, I am a golden eagle dealer.

^^ type r studs are not the same as b16. you would use "gsr" ones on a type r motor.

the studs are head specific, so pair them to whatever head your using, b16 head on whatever block, use b16 head studs, and so forth.

No.
The studs are BLOCK specific. the B16 is a shorter block, and uses shorter studs. The LS uses TWO longer studs in the center of a LS head, VS the B16/ GSR head. You need TWO center studs, the same length as the other 8 you have.

all b series blocks are the SAME with the exception of the bore, the difference between the blocks is the type of cylinder head they have, the LS uses two longer studs in the center of the LS head because the height of the head is higher in the center. This has NOTHING to do with the block.

your first statement is wrong. b16 studs ARE shorter than b18/b16b. a b16 deck height IS shorter. b16 and b18 have the same bore, different stroke.

so basically what your saying is that the b16 head bolts wouldnt reach inside the head because of the lower deck height, fair enough. I had assumed that the deck height was not enough of a difference to cause the bolt to not properly fit, needless to say, this is correct for the b18c/b18b however.

not even sure how you could say this when you can clearly see the visible difference between the height of the bolts in the heads themselves.

True, but different than B16A. That is why you need to know what block you have to order studs. And yes you can use your B16A rods in your B16B. LOL

ya b16b is same deck height as a ls/ gsr block. b16a is like .25" shorter if I remember right.
