Cam gears worth it without tuning?
I'm going to a shop to get my cams installed, but I am not going to tune anything for a while(since I have enough more money for vafc or dyno time). Would getting cam gears now be pointless? I would like to get it tuned some time later in the future. Would it be hard for the tuner to take out the cams later down the road to put in the cam gears?
Also if I were to get cam gears would golden eagle or str be the better choice? Thanks! |

what is your setup?
on itr cams, it usually always is better by advancing the cam 1 or 2 degrees |

If you're doin cams now and you don't do your own work throw the gears in as well. Untuned they are worthless other than the minor weight savings.

the cams don't have to be removed to replace the gears.. i'd say since you're not doing the install yourself you should save a little money on labor and have them installed at the same time as the cams.. even though you're not dyno'ing for a little while you can still play with the settings on the street.. |
