burned oil smoke coming out my exhaust?
Hi need some help with my ls/vtec. (b18b1 block, b16a head)
the problem is blue white smoke is coming out my exhaust only when I rev it above 5000rpms compressions are between 225psi lowest 235psi highest
and some times when I start the engine after a few days been park 2 or 3 days the car smokes for around 1 or 2 minutes then no smoke till revs pass 5000rpns if I drive between 2000 and 4000rpms no smoke , I'm been looking for some info about this and some people says that it is a valve seals problem maybe the valve guides but some other say the problem are the piston rings
I need to know if there is some kind of test there I can run to have a better idea of what is the problem?

Re: burned oil smoke coming out my exhaust?
Yes, Speaking from experiance. Just replaced rings in my motor. Motor was making 250 psi across all cylinders. Remember each ring has its purpose. Oil control rings are shot.
How many miles on thr rings?

The compression rings are what hold compression. Oil scraper rings do exactly that. You could take out your oil rings and do another compression test and results would stay the same...
You could have a cylinder out of round, improper ring gaps, upside down/broken rings, improper machining, clearances, etc.

I have seen oil rings fail right out of the box. Also if the rings were not clocked correctly when installed it can lead to this problem as well.
