Re: best headers for gsr
The answer to that question is the same for all engines. The best header is the one that makes the most power with your setup. There are alot more factors than just bolt and go. One header may make great power on one persons car (lets assume it started as a gsr block) but on person b's car it makes poor power gains (still a gsr block but with itb's lets say) point is you need to factor in the whole setup not just what made power for one person.

Do your research, Plan ahed, A quality header wont be cheap, so buy something that will work for your plans, rather then something that will go good now. It would suck to spend 800+ on the same part twice. |

Re: best headers for gsr
Alot of people seem to like the toda replica header.

Re: best headers for gsr
Depends on your setup, If your budget is limited, and you don't have much done to your engine, Maybe look into an ITR header, If you have other work, Bolt-ons/cams/etc. Maybe look into the PLM race header (Just one off the top of my head) I believe they go for about $450 and have great results, although im not speaking from personal experience, a few shops around my way carry them and talk them up alot...All in all, it depends on your setup/ what your setup will be. Your best bet is to shop around, check out what you can afford and read up on what people have used them on and how they liked there power gains

if you're looking for recommendations get a hytech rep. it does hang lower than most and longer.

Re: best headers for gsr
if your looking to spend alot of money, go for a Hytech, or SMSP, or a TODA
if your looking to spend less than half the money for 3/4th the power then go with any of these. https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ight=mikeyspec |
Re: best headers for gsr
Toda and SMSP get my vote. Toda 4-2-1 works exceptionally well on 2L builds as well so there's room to grow without changing an expensive piece of tubular metal. I personally run a real Toda header and if I didn't get such a good deal on it, I'd buy the replica.

Re: best headers for gsr
If going used, see if you can track down one of the old Edelbrock Flo Pro series headers. Extremely well made and worked well. I bought one brand new back in the day on clearance for $125 for my type R :P

Re: best headers for gsr
Technically you only need 1 HEADER. Not Headers. Unless you have 2 GSR swaps in the same car. Or you want to buy HEADERS so you can have a back up. With a $550 budget your not going to get a decent set of HEADERS.
But if you are looking for 1 header @ $550 you can get a decent Replica Header. Also maybe get a test pipe. If you give more info on your set up you will get a better response. Car info engine specs(mods) exhaust, fuel management, tunning ect. |
Re: best headers for gsr
Toda Rep or Hytech Rep heads perform very well on just about any NA B series setup.

Re: best headers for gsr
For a stock motor, a standard triY hytech, or toda replica will be perfectly fine.
