Default b20z reliability

Looking for everyone's option on this, how reliable is a b20z bored to 85mm with r-spec pistons with a gsr head? I keep reading death storys of these things being destroyed, and weak cylinder walls. The car will be broken in correctly and will hit the dyno to be tuned pretty quickly. Im looking for a dependable all motor daily, no boost.

the chain?
above post makes no sense at all

you obviously building it for more power and chances of you driving it like its a d15z1 from ecomodders is pretty slim

so if you see alot of horror stories with 85mm why not stay with 84.5 max like many people suggest?
spend some time on the head and cams and top end will make up in that power that you lost by staying 84mm

Is it sleeved? If so then its a different story.
One reason for going 85mm is it was damaged and bored out to the max.

With 85mm you dont have any wall to go if you decide to rebuild it

If you plan on circuit racing it, plan to crack a sleeve in the same spot the B20's always do.

if it has a block guard, clearances properly spec'd out, engine properly assembled, no corners cut, and a good reliable tune.............then you should be fine. my tuner made 700whp with a 84.5mm stock sleeve b20 with a ge block guard. most stock sleeve b20vtecs that ive seen are hacked up setups.
