Default b16 pistons

do b16 pistons have a ceramic coating like the type r pistons do? What compression ratio would the jdm type r pistons give a gsr motor? I am wanting around a 11.7:1 compression ratio and i think that is what the b16 pistons would give me but i wasnt sure if they had the ceramic coating like the type r pistons do and i want that.

Go to www.c-speedracing.com then go to How to and there will be a link there and you could go caculate your compression.

No, b16 is not moly coated. And also, you have to take the compression height into consideration when using the calculator. I did it all out by hand and found that on a GSR w/ JDM ITR pistons it yields about a 11.58:1.

ctr pistons have the moly coating.

static compression really means absolutely nothing, except for the "whose dick is bigger" contests.

i know the difference between static and dynamic compression ratio that is why i am getting a bigger compression piston so is it moly coated or not

on that site listed it comes out to 11.36:1 if i get a 2 layer head gasket that kicks it up to 11.67:1 The problem i have is that i have 129000 on my motor so i would want to bore it out .25 over for the stock replacement pistons but where would i find .25 over stock overbore jdm b18c5 pistons

ok i didnt want to say this but i will static is what is says on the piston like 10.6:1 dynamic is what is after the intake and exhaust cams have overlap and some of it is pushed back uup the intake runner. Therefore you lose some compression. When you get aftermarket cams with more overlap you need to increase the static compression to compensate for it.
