Default b16, GSR, and ITR valve springs all the same?

what i want to know is if all the dual valve springs are the same?

I have a b16 and wondering can i just use some GSR inner valve springs to make the side with only outter a dual valvespring setup.

which side currently has the dual valve spring? Intake or Exhaust?

and is there any difference between b16, B18c1, B18c5 inner and outer valve springs?

Ill be using some COMP Cams.

thanks

it depends.

g1 B16 has outers only all around. g2-3 B16 has inners/outers
on the intake side with outers only on exhaust like GSR.

ITR is something of a different breed. you have the intake
double springs from the GSR on the exhaust side with higher
lift/duration capable springs on the intake side.

so...

yes they are different. if you are using comp cams, if using
OEM valvesprings I wouldnt touch anything other than ITR outer
with Portflow inner springs. thats me, anyone else have another
idea?

** if you have never bent valves or missed a gear you might
not be as conservative as me. be fore warned, especially with
an exhaust cam set at 0 or -1,-2/10 you need some valvesprings
that wont float. the b series exhaust valves like to bend because
the clearances are very tight in there.

How do you tell the difference between ITR and GSR/B16 valve springs? Is there a visual difference?

You can identify them by the color on the top of the springs. The GSR intake springs are the same as the ITR exhaust springs and are painted GREEN on top. The intake springs for the ITR are different then the GSR ones (obviously) and are painted YELLOW on top.

Yep ITR Exhaust springs are used as Intake duals on b16's and gsr's.
Type R Intake inner: 14751-P73-J02
Outer: 14761-P73-J02
Exhaust outer: didn't look but are used as Intake springs on B16 and GSR.
Exhaust inner: Same

GSR Intake inner: 14751-P72-003
GSR Intake outer: 14761-P73-003

I will double check all of this but I was checking part numbers on Acura/Honda sites.

Blue b16a/GSR intake is the same as ITR exhaust

ITR/CTR use yellow intake

I was just running all of this through my head on the way home today and at one point had all of it figured out but since then, have forgotten which is which...

I am starting the build on my turbo ls/vtec and looking to run ITR valvetrain w/ GSR cams. I know that b16 valve springs sell cheaper than ITR springs. With looking for ways to have the same parts, just not paying for the "Type R" label, which combo of b16 and ITR springs need to be ran on each side to save money and have the same valvetrain as the ITR's? Thanks guys!

Update: Research:

from this site http://www.jdmcars.com/tech/admin/killerb.pdf

"When installing these cams on a non-Type R VTEC B-series engine, you should install the appropriate Type R intake valve springs on the exhaust side of the head. U.S. market B engines--with the exception of the Type R--only have dual springs on the intake valve. The dual exhaust valve spring is important to help handle the extra valvetrain velocity that the much higher lift Type R exhaust cam has. The regular B-series dual intake valve spring set-up can be run with the Type R cams because they are actually stiffer than the Type R intakes. This is because the Type R valves are lighter than the regular B-series valves."

Question:
So what needs to be done to keep from buying into the complete "Type R" label is b16/GSR intake duals on the intake side and ITR intake duals on the exhaust side?

I want to know I've b16a duals on intake..

I can get a set of skunk 2 tuner 2s..

I wanted to run dual valve springs on exhaust side..

I found a set of dual springs with green paint on them for my exhaust

will the green duals work on these skunk 2 tuner 2 cams

Or am I better off using supertec duals for safety?
Thanks In advance

You need aftermarket dual valve springs to eliminate the possibility of spring "coil bind" with those camshafts... the stock springs that you have mentioned above WILL bind and damage the cylinder head and camshafts.
