I had one... and quickly replaced it with an Apexi. They are old school. My Fields used to cause my car to sputter and stall out, when I tapped the controller the car would run fine. IMO, if you can find a good deal on a NEW one, go for it... I've also heard of the internal batterys going bad too.

my brother has the field's controller on his prelude and to me, its straight forward and fits in alot of places. Digital read-out and nothing too fancy like the Apex. But to me, the Apex has more features.

I have the Field's for over 2 years now. I just use it to lean/richen the fuel. Had it on the origianl B16a2 for over 50K, and now it is on the ITR motor until I can get standalone. I never had a problem with it, very easy to use, easy to see, etc.
from me.
Oh yeah, it is easily hidden if you desire.

the skunk2 dc ran 10's with the field vtec controller. trust me, they are good enough. i actually prefer the Field over the apex-i. i'm just that old school type of guy. i had one on my car for 2 years and it worked flawlessly. installed an apex-i and it kept freezing on me. i personally would not spend the extra money for the apex-i. they both serve the same purpose.

Im in the market to get a Field's instead of the Apex 1. Only real reason is cuz its cheaper and plus it eliminates the speed governor on the JDM ECU's.

What's the resolution on that thing? In other words, how many tuning points does it offer? For example, the Apexi VAFC I offers 16 tuning points. This is a really important factor no one is mentioning.

8 point fuel correction up to +- 30%
I have one, it's a good basic unit but I would recommend getting a VAFC for tuning.
The shift beep and rev meter functions are great though so I will probably keep mine even when I get something better.
It fits nicely in the heater vent of a DA too
