Surely should of had a CEL. Was vtec working in the car prior to this motor?
Could it be that be that vtec is working properly and the tune is making the transition so smooth it's not noticeable? My pro1's have a very smooth transition.
Also, the Honda shop manual suggests replacing the o-ring any time the cam cap is removed.

Re: 86x92 beries dyno toda c
I installed the dowel pin with a new oring but it just seems too simple for that to fix it?
Does anyone have a nice pic of a dissambled rockerarm I can look at to make sure everything is correct I mean everything looks right but doenst mean it is. Curious which rocker locks first, second and last just curious about the orientation.
thanks everyone for your help.

90efhatch that would be great if you dont mind if i figure it before then i will post and let you know thanks.
It is not engaging trust me there is no way they would peak at 7 with the toda secondary.
I bought the car as a shell so ive never driven it before this.
One more thing i just thought of i dont have the sensors inside the clutch pedal assembly i just have them looped so the car will start i wonder if i unjump the one maybe the ecu thanks the clutch is engaged? Any info on this?
Thanks everyone for all your help

The plug for the clutch neutral switch being looped has no effect. I know on a obd1 vehicle missing the dowel will definately set the vtec pressure code because of a lack of oil pressure to the vtec oil pressure switch. Being a CRX I am unsure of what engine light indicators they have.

Everything seemed fine again put it all back together with the dowel pin this time and took a spin. I cant really tell i think its engaging it spins from a 3rd gear roll. I am gonna try it in a higher gear tomorrow and see.

I had a very similar build to yours that made 253whp. It had the exact same problem where vtec wasn't engaging. Turned out to be a missing pin in the vtec rocker and also shaving debris from the machine shop clogged my vtec solenoid screen. Check out my thread. https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/dynoed-85-5mmx92mm-new-skunk2-megapower-header-2575267/

Re: 86x92 beries dyno toda c
I drove the car again yesterday and still cant tell if its engaging I dont have enough room for a 4th gear pull plus I dont have plates or ins on the car yet so I really do want to get on the highway. The motor feels strong but in third gear at 2.5k I can flat foot it and it accelaerates tilla bout 4.5-5k and the tach just swings 8 too quickly i think im gonna try some part throttle acceleration and see if I can get a audiable engagement point. Also I might try getting a friend to hold the car about 3k and jump the solenoid to see if it makes a different.
I do not have a ls/vtec so I dont need an external line but I am running a -6 line anyway for extra oiling to the head I was thinking maybe its too much oil or the more volume of the -6 line has made the pressure drop.
But imho I still dont believe vtec is engaging.
I should have just went ahead and bout the ferrea roller rockers and cams and I wouldnt have this problem!!! haha they will come soon enouogh along with a 4piston head and kinslers.
I have a goal of 300whp im gonna see how close I can get with pump gas then make the switch to e85.
