Default 43!'s Projected K24 Build Thread

What's up my dudes. I took a year away from my Civic and sold off my B series stuff. This time going to a K.

So far purchased;
2.4 Prayoonto 88mm short block with 14.5 Arias XR pistons
4P 163 Head
Skunk2 race manifold ported by 4P
Skunk2 90mm TB
Skunk2 fuel rail
Speedfactory radiator
Hasport race mounts
Insane axles
Kpro V4
K20z1 stock trans for now
E85 fuel
Ktuned rsx race shifter, cables
ATI K race dampner

I still need a bunch of stuff but I wanted to keep it all in one place and I don't use Instagram or FB. I'm trying to keep my car multi-purpose as I would like to attend HPDE and still drag race. As parts come in, I'll post photos. Thanks

350? Wow. I'm hoping for 300. My B20V made 250whp and was a street beast for what it was.

To be fair, it depends on the cams you choose. There's quite a few guys making over 300 with compression much lower than yours and with stage 4 or 5 cams. 14.5:1 paired with big cams and ethanol should clear 330-340 no problem. That ported manifold will make big power up top too.

Yup for sure. Can't wait to see the results. Let us know which cams you decide to go with.

I think the RR4 4P cams because I read they make broad power which I would rather have then a peak number. On my last engine, I got into chasing numbers/time slips and trying different cams and bolt ons to keep chasing. This time around I don't care, anything over 300 is cool as long as it's not peaky. But I'm open to suggestions on cams.

If I was to suggest cams it would be rr4s. If you were going for peak power/drag racing only there would be better options. For a street engine I don't think there's a better choice than rr4s. Should still swing past 300 with ease.

Yes, they said it's normal and something to do with boundary layer of air. Which I don't know anything about but none on their website look unfinished. It doesn't look good but whatever as long as it makes power.

i know the ribbed cnc'ed part is that way for the boundary layer of air, but the parts of the casting that have no machining done to them strikes me as weird. idk, Im not a machinist or anything but ive never seen a ported head look like that.

The uncut parts of the intake ports that you have pictured above is simply from "casting shift" when the head was first cast. Obviously, this isn't as visually appealing as a port that is fully machined... however, it does mean that the specific "un-machined" part of the casting is plenty large. Mine looked very similar to yours with respect to some small un-machined areas... and it made GREAT power.

The graph shows the intake and exhaust after their work. I think the intake side picks up 80+cfm flow from sub 300 to 375 on the 163 head.

Hi, does anyone have a write ups or diagrams on how to thin out the chassis harness? Or if someone has a link for the Electrical Troubleshooting manual it's appreciated. I ordered it from Amazon but I'm impatient and want to get started.

First photos just came in from the cage builder, Alexanderfabrication on Instgram. Cannot give this man enough props, excellent freaking work and there is more to come.
