Re: B16 Fully ported Vs GSR Fully ported
according to endyn testing both heads stock( confirm?)
gsr head flows better than b16 but not by much
if both ported to same specs and same size/type valves and everything else i dont see how they would be different.
its like saying , which piece of clay gonna make a better brick... depends on whos doing it.
if you have a type r head complete and stock. sell it and buy a b16 head.
the head and head work will cost about same as the money you make selling itr head

Re: B16 Fully ported Vs GSR Fully ported
Depends on who is doing the porting.
Our B16 port flows 5-7 cfm better than our GSR. If you already have a block together, the GSR has a smaller chamber and will have more compression, but I can make the B16 chamber smaller pretty easily.
I have sold a lot more GSR heads than B16, so I have a lot more guys making big power on the GSR but its purely because that is what they started with. You will be within a few HP either way you go as long as you make the compression =.
For what its worth, I have a handful of people with stock GSR strokes making over 270 on simple setups and running low 11s @ up to 124 and one stock stroke with our GSR in its most basic form making over 300 and running 10s every pass...that is an 89x85 13.5:1 motor.

Go with Portflow they rock. Just stick with the Type R head and have Portflow go over it. A Pr3 and P72 heads will flow dam near the same, so close in fact that it is not really worth arguing over.

Re: B16 Fully ported Vs GSR Fully ported
so just to steal the thread for a second since we got head porting guys here.
i bought a skunk2 intake manifold thinking its a gsr but it was a b16 so i drilled the holes and portmatched the runners to gsr head and also cleaned up the casting.
i red somewhere that b16 and gsr intake runners are different angle.
would having a b16 IM on a gsr affect anything( power)
