Default anybody take off the chrome that's around the doors and on the door handles?

Anybody take off the chrome on the doors and the door handles? How are they held on and how would you get it off with out braking it?
It looks like the bottom chrome piece by the windows are held on by bolts but i don't know how the top piece is held on.
And the door handle chrome i have no idea about. It almost looks like it's separate but i know you can only buy the entire handle from the dealer. Any ideas?

well....

the chrome is part of the window molding... mightnot be that great of an idea to remove these parts. removing to repaint maybe that would work to remove the chrome.

the handle comes as a complete kit with the housing being factory color matched to your car... the actual lifting part of the handle is chrome plated plastic. as far as i know its not removable (the chrome that is) the handle might beable to come a part but the removal of the complete assembly would be neccasary.

IntegraGSR23- I did the same with thelower hood trim, complete grill and the rear "A" emblem. Except i painted it all black on a RBP tsx.
Once i painted the grill, it gave the front of the car a totally diff. look. It made the headlights look darker and made the color stand out more on the front. I thought about doing the grill body color but I don't like having alot of blue accents on a blue car. kindof tacky to me, blue on blue. Now your CGP looks nice.
I'll be doing/trying the trim tape this weekend on the rest of the chrome. We'll see how it turns out.

ITR640-I figured as much. I know it's almost $300 to buy all new chrome strips so i'll do the tape. Thanx for the info though

I found the Trimbrite trim tape at Pepboys.
It's mixed in with all those cool holographic pinstripes, "racing" stripes, ohhh and that bomb *** carbon fiber tape that you use to lighten your car. (yes, i'm being sarcastic)

May save some of you a little time plus you can physically see it if your as picky as I am
If it wouldn't have rained all weekend i would have had it done. Oh well, always this weekend.
