2004 TSX ECU.. Help

Hello so my car was submerged from a flood. I need a new ecu. Would a random ecu work? Or Would I need it to reprogram to work on my car?

Before insurance fked with it car started but wasn't able to get in gears with all monitor lights on cluster.

What else should I be worried about from flood? Suspension wheel sensor module? Car seems fine now. Doesn't start. Its all dried up now. Trying to get the car back in driving condition. It flooded through floorboard only.

Any help would work.

Re: 2004 TSX ECU.. Help

2004 and 2005 are tricky. These two years you MUST know the VIN for the vehicle the ECU came out of to program your keys to it.

Jump up to the 2006 ECU as those can be programmed for any VIN and then the key programming goes a lot easier.

You could get the keys, immobilizer antenna and ECU as a package and hope for the best. The down side is they won't be cut for your lock cylinders.

Thanks for the response. I thought everyone had changed platforms on forums. I got a different ecu. Acura is like 2 hours away from me. What is the process? DO i need to take the car to them? or just key and vin#?? any help would be great thanks

Car needs to go to the dealer. They have to program it in the car. They might not be willing to program an ECU for a different year vehicle.

EDIT: Maybe not the dealer buy someone that has a programming tool AND Acura key code access. Sometimes lock smiths will have this.
