Will the US ever get a 5/6speed TL?
If there's a manual tranny TL-S, I'm going to get one in a few years..heh heh heh..
Just wondering, is it going to happen? Like a new school Legend Type2..??

No, I don't think so. Not to be a wize guy, but Americans don't like to shift. Even thou TL-S is for performance, most owners won't even know the difference between a 4 speed auto or 5 speed auto. There is an image, then there are actualy buyers.
I see the same thing when a AMG Benz rolling by and you see who is driving it. These "rich" guys/ladies walk in the dealership and say, "I want the best." Sales guy say, "this is the best." But they have no idea what they bought, other than it was "the best." And it's a Benz. When the car they really wanted is a Buick.
Looking back at the BMW 3. For 2001, they may the power steering lighter for less road feel, compare to 2000. Why? Cause the rich guys/ladies said it was too hard to turn the steering wheel.

An article in Autoweek a month or so indicated the CL TypeS would get a manual transmission this fall and *possibly* the TL-Type S the following year, depending on sales.

It's a shame that they don't make 5/6-speed as standard. Legend coupe and sedans were awesome w/ standard 5/6-speed tranny.

I read something somewhere that said the Type-S's were getting manuals for the upcoming model year. Don't know where I read it but I read it from a reliable source I think.
And there was much rejoicing.

They didn't sell many, though, so they dropped it (Acura sedans w/ a stick option).
Many companies have standard transmissions in the cars they sell overseas, so it isn't like they have to spend
$$$$$$$$$ on engineering one. It is merely that they don't expect it to sell well.
Nissan is the exception to this, for the most part, with the Maxima and new Altima.
Toyota offers a 5-spd Camry and Solara V-6, but just try finding one.
