TL Type S horsepower and tranny questions
Hello everyone. I just recently purchased a 2008 TL Type S with about 166k miles. It’s not a six speed manual like I wanted but oh well. Anyhow I have two questions. First how much horsepower does a Type S non manual put down to the wheels from the factory. I understand that every Type S will not be exactly the same and due to it’s ten year old status that it probably isn’t putting down what it used to and all but a general consensus would be great. Second question is does anyone have any idea as to how much power the stock Type S tranny will hold before throwing up all over itself. I am not trying to make it a race car because of it’s weight and due to the fact that it’s not a manual but I would like to put a bit more power to it to make it a decent daily driver. I appreciate any
help.
help.

Re: TL Type S horsepower and tranny questions
My personal take is enjoy it for what it is (which by default makes it a very decent daily driver), the 3G TL, regardless of trim or engine, is neither easy or inexpensive to boost the power to any measurable degree.

200.6hp
If you want a real answer you're asking in the wrong place (...on the internet).
you're nearest dyno shop would be a good place to look for real answers.

Anywhere from 200 to 220. Most TL owners just "bag" them. More technical info are found from those from the accord forums.
Although the 07-08 auto trannies seem to be "better" and less "tragic" than the 04-06, I have no qualms stroking my 05 auto to a 3.7l. Haven't given me or my brother a problem since 30k miles.
