Stuck in Park
I have a 2000 TL that the shift-lock does not release. I have to use the manual override to get it to come out of park everytime I drive. Is there a sensor or solenoid I can releace easily before I send it in for someone else to fix? If so please provide instructions on how to locate the sensor/solenoid.
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Stuck in Park (jmaumus)
usually this is a problem with the solenoid getting dirty or worn out. Removing the center console and the trim around your shifter will expose it. Unfortunately i am not familiar with the process for 2nd gen TL, but this is a common problem so im sure it has been covered elsewhere on the net.

See if your brake lights are working or not. They probably are not working, and you need to replace the brake switch located on the back side of the brake pedal arm. It is pretty easy and part is around 20$ from dealer.

Re: Stuck in Park (Honda Tool)
Your right, my brake lights are not working. I will try to get a brake switch today to see if that works. I will keep you posted.

Re: Stuck in Park (jmaumus)
Yes it was the brake switch. Brake lights work now, and I can move the shifter out of park without using the manual override. $35 at the local honda dealer. Inflation sucks. Thanks for your help.
