Default Spongy brake pedal on '06 TL

I just replaced the front pads on my '06 TL with Acura pads and now the pedal is spongy and travels further. Before I put the new pads on, the pedal was rock solid. I did one side at a time and there are no leaks anywhere. As usual, the piston in the caliper had to be pushed in to allow the caliper to fit. At a loss and the fluid level is near the max level.

If there was air in the brake lines, what is the proper sequence to bleed them?

You should not have to bleed your brakes... Did you pump your brakes before you drove on them with the car off? Is your brake fluid reservoir cap on correctly and tight?
