Honda Fit/Jazz coming to the US
 

In the newest issue of Car and Driver, they said that Honda is going to bring over the Fit/Jazz. I know they're not sports cars, but really like the looks of these tall wagons, and you can't smote the practicality (and it's a Honda).

What do you think? Will it succeed in the US? It could be well timed due to the release of Toyota's (Scion's) bbx. There was also rumors of Nissan bringing over the Cube. I like it.

In Asia, they're powered by a 1.3 liter, 82 hp engine (I belive, don't have time to check it right now). However, Car and Driver said that the US version will likely get a bump in power.

I think the Fit/Jazz is cool, if its inexpensive it'd definitely be a good daily driver car. I hope it gets at least 115 to 130 hp though.

Either way I hope small useful vehicles catch on over here so it will help kill the SUV madness. The Element, CR-V, and hopefully the Stream are all steps in the right direction.

I know here in Canada they can't keep up with the demand. As far as I know the Matrix is doing extremely well. And I don't think the fit and the matrix are that similar. The fit is a hardcore econobox...the matrix...they can get up to 180hp...more of a crossover type vehicle.

If you go to http://www.vtec.net there's an article now saying that Honda is still just looking into bringing the Fit over. Who knows - only time will tell.

It seems too small for this market, but I guess with cars like the Mini Cooper and Chevy Aveo out, I guess small is the in thing now. I would rock it too.

A lot smaller than a Matrix. More like a Scion xA/xB or Suzuki Aerio size.

Again, Honda apparently denies they are bringing this car over for sure, so we don't know if it'll hit the U.S. yet.
