Brake light problems

Brake light problems
I recently bought a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL.... still runs great, even with almost a quarter million miles on it. My first problem was that the transmission lock would not release. I found out a common cause was a defective brake light switch -sure enough, I had no brake lights, so I replaced the switch. I also checked the fuses and bulbs but I still have no brake lights. What am I missing? Where/What do I check next? I'm no newby to fixing cars, but this one has me stumped.

Re: Brake light problems
The power for the left and right brake light bulbs goes through the brake light failure sensor, while the high mount brake light does not go through the brake light failure sensor.
The brake light failure sensor is located in the left rear of the trunk, next to brake/taillight socket. The harness connector for the brake failure sensor is a separate 6 pin gray connector. Disconnect the 6P gray connector for the brake light failure sensor. With a small wire, jump the 6P connector cavity terminal (where the Wht/Blk wire is) to the cavity terminal (with the Grn wire). The Wht/Blk wire is a wire with white insulation and a black stripe running through it. Depress the brake pedal; does the left and right brake lights work? If they work this way, you probably have a faulty brake light failure sensor.

Re: Brake light problems
Thanks for your reply but.....now I have good fuses, bulbs, a new brake light switch and a new brake light failure sensor and I still have no brake lights, left, right or third. I don't even know where else the problem may be....I even looked to be sure no wires looked burnt or loose. I really don't want to have to put it in the shop.
