Default Acura TL AC blower motor failure

Hi everybody. I'm new here and this is my first post, regarding my 2006 TL. I've noticed over several weeks that my AC blower was becomming weaker, and then this weekend, the blower wouldn't even turn on until I hit a bump, and then with the setting at full, the output from the vents was still pretty weak. With each passing day, same thing, had to jar it to get it going, and then it blew less and less each time. I pulled the motor and connected my meter to the wiring harness, started the engine, and saw that I was getting alternator voltage. Reconnected the motor and saw that it turns very slowly, even when set at maximum. It's the original motor that came with the car, so I'm assuming that it's the motor that I should replace, is that correct? I realize that it could be the resistor, but that seems far less likely to me than worn motor brushes. If someone could confirm this theory for me, I'd sure be grateful.

If it was the resistor the lower settings would stop first.

You need to make sure the blower motor is bad first. Dis-connect or remove the motor and using jumper wires, jump from battery negative to one terminal of the connector and from battery positive to the other terminal of the connector. It should blow full strength when you touch the second jumper wire to the terminal on the connector. It doesn't matter which terminal. You're not gonna hurt the motor, it'll just spin the opposite way.

And for the record, it was the motor, which has since been installed and works perfectly.
