2001 Acura CL 3.2 S-type - CEL, SRS, & VSA lights on
OK, so I'm new to this forum, but have read a number of the posts on various issues and this looks like a great place to get advice. Here's hoping some of you can lend me a hand in diagnosing my car.
I have a 2001 CL S-type with 136,000 miles. Just bought it. It has a salvage/resoration title (happened around 100k miles). I do not know if the transmission has ever been replaced or not. Is there a way to find out if Acura has aready done this? If not, any way they'll do it at this point?
I have noticed slipping/revving in 3rd gear, and the check engine light has been on for a week. The VSA lights (both) come on occasionally, usually only when I'm running the A/C, and if I turn the car off then back on, they go away until a few miles down the road. Also, the SRS light has been on since right after bought it (go figure!).
Anyway, I took it to AutoZone on Friday to have the codes read, and this is what I got:
P0420 - Catalyst efficiency below threshold (bank 1)
P0740 - TCC circuit malfunction
P0730 - Gear ratio incorrect
Can some of you knowledgeable folks out there give me an idea of what I'm up against before I take it in?
