RSX-S Rebuild

Hello my name is Chris, just letting yall know I have some entertainment to offer. I have a new car and i will need as much as help as i can get to get my car back to normal. Im on a budget , go to school/work, and i have always wanted my own Acura RSX-S but i dont have that kind of money. Short life story i had a gsr, traded it and got me a 1999 Honda Accord EX coupe f23. bought some goodies replaced axles, lowered car jdm this and that .. then i saw a deal on an RSX-S crashed for 6K. I called and got my questions answered. The car is a 2004, only 36,474 original miles on the virgin k20 .. asked if it was salvage and was told it wasnt. LONG story short the car is a clean title and got me the car. Here are some pictures from previous owner, i will post better ones.

https://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l...mofo13/4-2.jpg

The car turns on [: I cant wait to get her, i am the second owner yay.

Here is a question I have , the clutch is all the way down and I cant move the car out of gear. What is the problem i am facing? Thank you all for looking , I hopefully get answers !!

So you bought a car that you have no idea what is really wrong with it? I hope you took someone along who was knowledgable about how much $$ you'd need to put into it.

How are we supposed to diagnose your problem when we have no idea how hard the car was impacted or what exactly is wrong with it?

Re: RSX-S Rebuild (tweek_boii)

i think the guy lied to you. That has to be a slavaged vehicle.. there is no way that was not considered salvaged. From the pics, I promise that car is salvaged. I wrecked my 03 and it was in waaaaaaay better shape then that picture and they still totalled my vehicle. Did you get a carfax?

You could have hidden damage that you don't know about and from what you are describing, you've got some. You say you are on a budget.. but you just spent 6k on a wrecked car and you want to rebuild it? You realize parts are not cheap for these cars. You took more then you can chew off.

We used carfax, i wouldnt get into a heap of trouble with out know how bad the heap really is . the guy never reported the accident, we called the DMV and it has no accident report, and like i said carfax states its good to go . he has the title and its clean bro .

Clutch cable? Lol, its a hydraulic system, there is no cable.

Have you checked to see if there is fluid in the clutch master cylinder reservoir?
There could be air in the lines.

The accident could have damaged the hydraulic lines or dislodged the slave cylinder off the front of the transmission.

Anyone notice the passenger side airbag blew? (Meaning both blew)

If this accident was reported wouldn't that automatically be a total? Not sure.

How do you come to that deduction? Do you know what the term totaled means? You guys are funny!

Totaled (shorthand for total loss) is a term used in the insurance industry. In the US, when a vehicle is damaged and the cost of repairs and the salvage value combined would exceed the current value of the vehicle, the insurance company may declare it totaled. Generally, the insurance provider will only pay out the lesser cost of buying a replacement vehicle, instead of paying to repair the old one to its previous state.

you have alot of work ahead of you. i did the same thing. bought car wrecked and fixed it. expect there to be alot unexpected problems.

check out the thread about my car

dont worry about salvage title unless you plan on sellin. mine is and could care less.

Re: (Kidnkorner)

Depending the insurance company, it's usually total damage exceeding 70% value of the car is when they declare it totalled.

OP:

You have a lot of work and for being on a budget, it's not a cheap project. Well at least once your done if you want to sell it, you'll have a clean vehicle history. Your project will probably cost roughly about the same price as buying a used one but at least you'll have the satisfactory of saying you rebuilt it. Good luck https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

more power to you dude, i hope you can get it going. As long as the frame isnt bent, i don't see why it couldn't be repaired. Get it street legal and running, worry about the aesthetics later!
