I kept the stock size on my RSX last summer, I regretted it.
I should have went with 225-45-16. If that size is possible to do on your car, without having any problems, I'd do that instead.

Re: Rim/Tire combo question
Reviving this thread to ask a question I've been unable to find a definitive answer to after hours of searching this forum.
I have an '03 ep3, completely stock except for 16x7 rota circuit 8's. I may upgrade to nice suspension in the future, but I doubt I will have enough money for much more than that.
I'll start out by saying that I drive very very fast. Whenever the area is free of cops, I'm driving on the limit. I keep it under 50 in neighborhoods of course... Really I don't want to kill a dog or anything else. Obviously only drive like this when visibility all around is very good; so that I can forsee any possible dangers.
I got the rims/tires as a set for an amazing deal. The tires that came with it are 205/45/r16. Unfortunately i can't remember the name.. I'm in india and haven't driven for 2 months... Anyway, I wore through the front two in only 10k miles, the back is in much better shape. Without a doubt this is from hundreds of miles of racing through hilly countryside. The tread loss, this means, is from fast turning only.
I plan on increasing negative camber and castor to help with wearing on the outsides of the tread and for handling aswell, but what's most imortant for this new pair of tires is of course performance; grip.
Before I decide on a model of tire, I must first choose the size. I'm wondering whether 215 or 225 would be a better width for the rim size. I'm assuming sticking to the 45 sidewall is a safe bet also. I love the feel of sensitive, darty tires; bumpiness isn't a concern. I've read from some people that 225's are too wide for 7" width rims; that they experience excessive roll on hard corners, but from others I've heard it's perfect. Could the tire brand/model be responsible for this roll moreso than the tire width itself? I know the 215's will be fine, but if I can get away with the extra width, I would like to do that. Keeping in mind that I'll be running a greater camber angle up front, and also that the car is driven on the limits of it's grip, which width would be best? 215 or 225?
IMPORTANT: Keep in mind I will continue to use the 205 width tires in the rear. I realize the effects on handling this will have. The increased oversteer is ok. I feel very comfortable, and 100% confident that this will not be a problem for me. Increased cornering speeds and braking are all that's important.
If it helps to give myself a category, I would say it's road racer.. Keeping the car withing legal racing limits... I'd rather go as fast as possible and not compete.
Also if you have a suggestion for a specific tire with witch you;ve had good experiece, please let me know. What's most important is durability, followed my grip (I realize this is often a trade-off), followed by price. I really can't stop myself from driving this way.
