Intake I made for my swap.. gonna try it out
So with the new throttle body and the k24 the Injen CAI just won't fit anymore.. I tried and tried and just couldn't muscle it in there. So I decided I will make my own intake. It's not a cold air intake but it's not going to heat soak like a SRI. I'm also going to wrap it with heat wrap. Anyways here is the pipe next to the injen... yeah I didn't unwrap it for the picture doh lol
I then bought a 90* 3" silicone coupler with T-Bolt clamps
and here is my test fit in the bay
My new K&N air filter came in the mail... I must say... in my head it was a lot easier and fit different but then I ran into several issues... but when you are customizing and making a one off piece you always do. So no surprise. I just do like always and keep modifying and brainstorming the solution.
So here is my new air filter
Not very big... comparison to my finger lol
So then I had to start cutting the pipe... so prepping it for surgery lol
and start cutting
I tried it a couple of time and rotating it and etc.... eventually had to keep cutting
here is how much I cut off.
but here is my new intake
**NOTE**
My car is not even close to running yet... so I do not know how this intake will perform. I will be wrapping the piping with heat wrap also. If it doesn't work well once I get the car up and running I will keep exploring and keep making new intakes until I fine one that works great!

I actually didn't loose any power with it surprisingly. My intake temperatures stayed relatively the same. So it isn't heat soaking and with it's location it still gets plenty of cool air. I also don't worry about hydro-locking. It has a deeper throaty sound kind of like a SRI. Overall I'm happy with my design. If I wasn't you sure know I'd build another one lol

where did you place the battery? I have been thinking of doing an intake but everything looks so crowded.
can you do something like that wo moving the battery?

My battery is tucked under the passenger side headlight
If a normal cold air intake fits with stock battery an intake like this should work fine
