Hondata reflash????

Re: Hondata reflash???? (LU)
well according to clubrsx.com, the one to get if you are all for performance, assuming you are a type-s, is the hondata #4 reflash. this reflash will lower the vtec engagement point from 5800 to 5200, and up the redline to 8600. this also eliminates the torque dip found on the stock ecu. hondata also claimed 12-20 peak wheel hp gains, 15-20 ft/lb torque increase between 2500-3500 rpm, and 95% of peak torque available from 2500-8000 rpm. this is also backed by several other peoples dyno graphs that i have seen.
in my opinion its totally worth it, but i have met people who didnt think it was all that great.

Going to have to agree with TunedDC5 here. Just save up and get the k-pro. Unless you are an 05+ then you'll have to spend more because you have to get an 02-04 ecu and o2 sensor

the reflash is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I had it first and it was like a night and day difference on my car. Now if you are planning to do cams and stuff then you should go for the K-pro.

It depends on what your goals are. I dont plan on going any further than I/H/E so the reflash is a great option for me. Any more than that I would suggest the Kpro

The reflash is good for Cold air intake (not short ram) and exhaust. If you run a race header you will run lean with the reflash. As a Kpro owner I would not own anything else, I love it. I also have an 06' type-s and I got it for only $945 with adapter harness (I already had a stock 04' ecu out of my other RSX type-s
[R.I.P.]) I can get Kpro for the 02-04 rsx for $830 from a dealer in austin texas, if anyone wants it let me know, I will give you his number.

Re: Hondata reflash???? (LU)
I did not know that the 02-04 runs leans with a RH and #4. I thought it was just an issue with the 05...can anyone else confirm this? I was going to run an icebox, jrrh, exhaust and #4...not a good idea?

Re: Hondata reflash????
I currently have an AEM CAI & DC Sport Headers and I'm looking to get Hondata reflash in my 02 Civic Si. Does anyone with reflash know if it will cause any service or emissions lights to come on in my car??? I use it as a daily driver so it needs to pass MA inspection.

Anyway, it should not effect any lights to come on. But if MA does an emissions test like a sniffer in the exhaust, then you might fail.
In my opinion, I'd fork out the extra $300 for a used KPro. And you can always sell your stock ECU if you wanted.

Re: Hondata reflash????
im flashed, but i also have an 06 and didnt want to spend an extra 1400 for kpro, and honestly unless you plan on racing or doing any forced induction the flash is plenty. i went from wanting to build for speed, to later realizing that the rsx just isnt the best platform to build for a fast car due to power to weight ratio compared to a hatch. if youve got the money kpro but a flash is plenty imo

Re: Hondata reflash????
K-Pro is certainly better but a little out of my price range (unless anyone has a used one they want to sell me). A friend of mine works at a dealership and he said that MA doesn't do a sniff test anymore so I should be good there.
For those running the reflash, where did you have it done and/or can you recommend a good shop near Boston? I'm a little nervous about sending out my ECU.
