Default Help with tie rod and tie rod boots.

I searched this and did not find what to do exactly.

I'm replacing the tie rod boots on my Civic and as far as I know, you can cut the old one off but the ring on the boot that holds it on the tie rod is stuck and I can't get it off. Question is, how do I get it off? I tried using a flathead screwdriver to pry it off but it doesn't seem to work. (I'll post pics if requested.)

Second question, the tie rod bolt is also spinning. Is that natural? How do I get it to stop spinning? Is that a sign that I need a new tie rod end? (I hope not.)

Thanks.

Can't really help you on how to replace the boot, but I just swapped my tie rod ends out with ends from an RSX (different size, needed for the HKS Hipermax's I just installed). It's natural for the tie rod to spin. The way I got it off was by placing a 17mm open ended wrench on the tie rod end, and an adjustable wrench on the lock nut (right behind the end), and then basically wrenched away at the adjustable one with everything I had in me to get that loose. One's it's lose you can get the end off (if you haven't already gotten that done. The tie rod _end_ should not spin independantly of the tie rod, the lock nut should lock it into place.
