Default D.I.Y Painting A-Pillars

So being bored today I saw a thread about painting the pillar and headliner black. But I only did the pillars. Someone asked about a simple DIY so I did one.

First here is a picture of my stock pillar. Never realized how bad they look till I saw the thread and thought about it!

For my car all you do is pull back the window trim insulator/rubber

then I stuck a door panel remover in between the door and pillar and popped the pillar off which is held in by three clips.

Next you want to clean your pillars. I just used simple green and some towels. Because the pillars aren't extreme, no additional prepping is really required. But if worried you could do a light scuffing.

Now mask off anything you want, I masked off the felt cushions

I put down cardboard and set up bricks to hold up the pillars

I used Krylon plastic paint (semi-flat)

Start with a light coat then let it dry

then more coats as needed

I did four coats total and got this

and now re-install
