Can I swap a base model k20 into my 2002 RSX type S
So money is tight right now and my engine is toast. (Oil starvation) I bought it this way so don't lecture me please.
so basically I can afford to buy a base model RSX engine as they are available locally for very cheap from a few wrecked base model rsx's. I know I'd lose about 40 hp by swapping a base model into my type S but I can't find an affordable type S engine anywhere and need to be able to drive my car.
So is it possible to just drop in a base model k20 or would I need to use kpro? If I need kpro it would pretty much defeat the whole purpose which is to have my car running again for cheap.
Could I just use a base model ecu and ignition imobilizer/key?
New to k series and rsx's in general I have always been doing d and b swaps. I do k ow I can just disconnect the imobilizer from the key switch and use the one that matches the base model ecu and use the base model key and tape it to the imobilizer and hide it under the dash so that I can use my original key and key switch as I did this previously when someone broke into and broke my ignition in my 2005 civic.
