AC not engaging

Morning guys !
so last year my rsx a/c would kick on and off no matter what I was doing. Consistently. Like within 5 - 10 seconds. On off on off.
I assumed I was low on the low side and I was. So I ended up filling her up to the green area and now the AC system doesn’t engage at all.
I jumped the switch below the battery and the fan started to work that’s it.
I also did the A/C self DTC and no codes came up. I’m not sure where to start looking next.
this is my first car that has A/c so I would like to fix it for the summer.

Re: AC not engaging

Thermal switch failure is common on "K" series applications... test it or bypass it and see if the compressor starts working again.

Re: AC not engaging

So I finally got time to check out my ac in the rsx. Just got done putting a whole new front end on my civic. What a joy to drive it again!
Anyways
i checked the clutch and it spins freely. MINIMAL effort is needed to move it. So it’s not seized.
I had checked out my thermal protector switch as the guy above mentioned(who’s been a HUGE help to me the last few months thank you so much) and I’m not sure about it. The most voltage I had read coming out of the thermal switch connector was about 5volts for a split second(only saw that once though). I got a reading of 0 more than anything from it.

The switch below the battery tray I had unplugged and checked got a consistent/stable reading going to there.
My next thing I’m going to do is get my system checked for the proper High & low side readings.
any input is appreciated!

I’m going to try and get a better reading at thermal switch again tomorrow

You can unplug it and jump the plug... essentially bypassing the thermal switch OR you can run cold water on to the top of the A/C compressor around the thermal switch and see if things blow cold then. It doesn't hurt to jump your drier pressure switch if you believe that you may not have enough refrigerant in the system.
