I am needing advice as to what to look for, I want to check to make sure my new car is road Worthy. Any advice as to what potential issues might come up? The car has been sitting for a few years.

Just like an other vehicle that has been sitting for a few years...
Gas could be jelling up, or clog filter or injectors.
Rubber components could dry rot i.e. belts, hoses, tires.
Shocks could seize up, or have lost the ability to dampen properly.
Rotors could be rusted on the surface, but that usually skims off when used.
Animals can get into spaces and make nests or leave excrement, check air box, blower housing, spare tire and other rear end areas.
Thanks. I will be going through just about everything. Just wanted to get the HT community advice. Later on I may change motor and trans, but for now I'm going to try to enjoy it as a low mileage car. I'm new to K series and I have been out of the Honda world for 10 years.
Given the prices on EP3s, I would actually view a barn find as a negative, honestly. But yes, drain the gas, check out all wiring, belts, Good luck at least it looks to be in very good shape.
OP, you have a "Toyota of Seattle" license plate frame on the front of the car... I don't think that is what you call a "barn find"... this is unless the used car buyer for the dealership found it in the previous owners barn.
I took it to Honda and paid $100 dollars for a pre-buy certification check. Similar to a certified used car checklist. Everything looked good to them. Put stabil gas additive in the tank and filled it with premium. Car started right up, figure I will put a new battery in it. Old guy in Seattle listed it. Got on a plane and bought it. Super clean. More pictures to come.
Any suggestions as to initial performance mods to such a clean car?
If you're doing a swap down the road, I would suggest suspension (assuming you have already fixed any problems or wear items first, of course). So, good coilovers (at least the second level of any of the majors - BC, Yellowspeed, Tein (if you must)), Civic Type R rear sway bar, bushings, end links, etc. Or, get good rims/tires - 17 x 8 I think is perfect for our cars. What's your budget and what are your goals - DD, autox, time attack, HPDEs, impessing the ladies, etc?

A guy posted it on Craigslist in Seattle. I responded to his ad. I couldn't get up there in the two days he wanted. So he traded it. I then went to Toyota and bought it. It was worth it. So yes, he stored it, literally in a shed behind his Oriental store. So I met him and the dealer. Your comment is worthless.

drain the gas.. lol if it runs just drive it normally. Let it get hot then change the oil. look over rubber parts then call it good. its not like its 30 years old and the fluids are puddin'
