2002 type s feels slow.. help..
So I just got a 2002 type s.. the guy I got it from told me the motor was rebuilt.. but after driving it every day, it feels kind of slow in lower rpms.. when I got it the valves were ticking so I fixed that.. and I just found out today that my knock sensor is broken.. could that cause power lose? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated...

The first thing you want to do is buy a compression leakndown tester at autozone or somewhere. That will tell you if it's your engine or not.

Ya vtec engages.. I'm actually just taking it to the dealer to have them go through the whole car. Hopefully the motor isn't shot.

I had a girlfriend with a black 02 Type S last year. Vtec engaged just fine but there was a very obvious lack of power. She never figured it out and sold it for $7K lol. That this was fun to drive but seemed to slow for a K and everytime you shifted it hard the exhuast would SLAP and I mean slap the floorboards. You could feel it in the passenger seat.
Good luck solving it. Check the air filter, clogged cat, run a scan, do the compression test mentioned above. knowing cylinder pressures are the start to knowing the health of any engine.
