GF's '03 RSX Type S cluster seems to have died. Is this a common issue?

The gauges stopped working, but the check engine light and other warning lights still come on as they normally would during startup. However, the hand brake light stays on regardless of the hand brake being on or not.

Fuses are good under the dash and under the hood.

I also googled and found a gauge test procedure here and on youtube, but it doesn't do anything when I try it myself.

The car is stock and nothing was changed or added recently.

Any insight?

Just buy a replacement cluster on fleabay?

If your going to replace the cluster id sugest clubrsx.com over ebay im sure people are selling there clusters, i have a 05 type-s one im not using but witht he cars using two different speed sensors im guessing it would not work for you unless you did a bit of work on it.

I've never ran into that problem myself. You can pickup an 02-04 cluster cheap. Seen lots of them. I would just buy another one and swap it. If nothing you can always resell

Did you ever figure out what was going on with your RSX? I have the exact same problem with mine.
