Two NSX scams on auotrader.com
I emailed two potential sellers of two different 2002 silver nsx's that I found on autotrader. I got an email back from the first seller stating that the car has a clean title, low miles, no damage and runs perfectly. Price $20K. Yeah....
I would have to send him $2500 via Western Union to cover the cost of the shipping from London and pay for the remainder when the car arrives at my door.
Sounds like a great deal huh? Until I got the second email from the second seller.
The second sellers email was word-for-word identical to the first--with different sellers, different cars, almost same pictures if I am not mistaken.
I had a friend attempt to sell his car via an online service and, he too, got scammed by a "buyer" in Nigeria who send him a fradulent check via Western Union that was for over the amount of the purchase price. He included instructions to send the remainder of the money back to him via money order. The check was fake and my friend had already placed the money into his account and send the money order. His bank called him two days later with the news of the fradulent checking account. My friend got burned and I want everyone to know so they too do not get the "deal of a lifetime". below are the links to the NSX's I was looking at.
I have notified Autotrader about this potential seller.
