Track Pictures from TWS (Oct and Nov, 2003)
Hey fellas. Below are some pictures (and a short video clip) from a couple recent track events here in Texas. Enjoy.
TWS / The Drivers Edge / College Station, Texas
Saturday, October 18, 2003 - Sunday, October 19, 2003
This was my first full(*) HPDE with the NSX. We could not have asked for better weather - absolutely perfect. I'm definately a newbie, but have been hooked since the first time I was on the track last year. Besides the actual driving, it's always good to see NSXers you've not seen in a while and meet some new ones.
If the aroma of exhaust fumes and burning rubber does not wake you up, the wail of cars flying down the front straight will:

Since I'm slightly better at Photoshop than I am on the track (yeah, I know that's not saying much)... Be sure to check out the high-res version...

Finally, here's a short video of me being a dope:

TWS / The Drivers Edge / College Station, Texas
Saturday, November 15, 2003 - Sunday, November 16, 2003
I had other plans the first day of this event, so did not register. However, I was there on Sunday to hang out with the NSX gang.
Drive to College Station (The weather man said rain-rain-rain, but the weather was beautiful, go figure):

At least I got a few parade laps in. For this event, they were running CW. It's just like they say: CW is a completely different than CCW:

Re: Track Pictures from TWS (ojas)
Sounds and looks like you had a good time, Ojas. How many NSX's showed up at the event? I'm going to have go down to TWS next track season and hopefully meet up with some of you guys.
Thanks for sharing the vid too. And you made a good save to keep the rear from coming out. Sounds like your instructor wasn't too hard on you. Good job!
What was it like to be on the oval portion?
Good stuff.

Let's see... In October, there were a total of 4 NSXs (3 students, 1 instructor). One of the other instructor did not have his NSX there. In November, there were also 4 NSXs (3 students, 1 instructor) that participated and again, another instructor who did have his NSX there. 2 NSXs showed up that Sunday just to hang out, though.
The front straight (the main part of the oval we were on) itself is exciting the first time (mostly due to the high-speed), then it becomes pretty boring. However, the end of the straight where you fly down into turn 1 from the top of the banked part of the track (accelerator floored), is fun. My instructor kept telling me not to left off the gas until we were off the straight, heading into the first turn. I was scared most of the time.
I have some more video, but have not edited it yet. I'll see what I can do about that.
I'm looking forward to next year - I'll be at TWS and MSR at least a couple times each. Hopefully, we'll meet then.

Great pics and video. I'd say if you didn't do so well controlling that slide off course, you may have ended up in those tires or the porta potty! Yikes! I will be attending my first track event at Sebring in April. I can't wait!
