Default Baffled Oil Pan Coating Results

Thought I'd share the finished project.

From this:

To this:

And this:

The internal coating is a oil shedding and heat soaking ceramic. The external coating is a heat extracting and thermal barrier ceramic. I was really slack-jawed by how well this project turned out - the coater did a great job! My only regret is that we didn't do a baseline of the oil temp previous to the coating application.

Had the headers, ARC oil pan, and this baby done. I'll take pics of the former two once I get back to the mechanic's. Those look good too!

Dry sump, no. Accusump, yes, eventually. I won't be going to another track even w/o it being on.

How did you manage to grenade the motor? Ever figure out what caused it?

#6 rod bearing blew. Apparently baffling isn't enough, for me anyway.

Thread back from the dead:

Interior

Exterior

Headers - they weren't ugly before but certainly not "new" in appearance.

Coated inside and out. Should be actually touchable a few minutes after the car is turned off.

I have used HPC coatings on the following components in my 2.0L ITR:

Pistons: Tops and skirts
Valve Cover: Oil Shedding Coating
Header: Thermal Barrier

I'm very impressed with the quality of their coatings.

I also have a '97 Monte Carlo Blue NSX T that will never see any track time.

Shawn,

I'm bringing this post back from the dead. Would you happen to have these original pictures somewhere?

Thanks!
