Where do these hoses lead to? (pics)
Im removing my EVAP as we speak, I have the Helms handy, but have a question about 2 hoses coming off the canister.
This first one, Im not sure where it leads to. The THICK hose going into the top of the smaller control canister, and exits out the bottom and goes under the car somewhere. Unfortunately, right now Im not able to get under the car to see where it goes. Do you guys know where this leads to or if it just vents to the atmosphere under the car?
The other hose comes off the top of the main EVAP canister, and is a "FUEL VAPOR PIPE" that leads to a EVAP valve back near the fuel tank. I think I can just plug this line but wanted to see if you guys could verify or not.
I know you guys seem to shun removing the EVAP stuff, but since Im running a standalone, and most of this EVAP system is just flopping around in my engine bay, I figured Id remove it since its not needed. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Where do these hoses lead to? (RTW DC2)
you dont want to plug the tank vent , it needs to purge.
after shutting off your car it will smell like gas for a minute under the hood , but I believe the car does run slightly better after the removal of all that emmisions crap.

Thanks Doc, yeah I figured that would need to vent or else the system would continually build up pressure. What I did was attach another hose to the "vent pipe" that vents out under the car. You can see in the picture, the hose with the yellow zip tie goes to a piece of plastic with 2 connections on it, and that actually leads to underneath the car where it vents out. I just gotta plug the other hole and I shouldnt have any gas smell coming from the engine bay.
The system is totally removed from the engine bay now, both the large and small canisters. But there are still some valves back by the fuel tank Im just going to leave in as they arent harming anything.
This pic shows where I plugged the EVAP hose that leads to my IM. I used a big bolt and washer(its actually a seat rail bolt and washer). Its only temporary until I get a screw so I can remove the fitting and plug the hole.
The only thing I have left is the two connectors that the system used. One is for the purge valve on the firewall, the other was a connector on top of the main canister. Not sure what I want to do with these yet. Can I just cut them and tape them up? Or should I just zip tie them up somewhere?
Ill try to make a how to later today and add it to the FAQ thread.

I wouldnt cut the harness , just in case , I'd tie them outta the way. everything else looks gUUd.
BTW - where the charcoal canister used to reside is an ideal place to install a catch can

Re: (sinbro1)
If your car is still using the system (ie you are not running a stand alone) you might get CELs and I wouldnt suggest removing it if thats the case.
