00-01, Key coded, though not fully effective, does save some R's here and there.

The best year for the Type R is the year of the one you are lucky enough to own... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

every single year they were produced. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

its a shame they stopped making them.

Keep em safe everyone.

97 because they were the lightest and most raw. But my 00 PY is sexier than any 97.

I don't think there's a good, correct way to answer what year's the best.

Personally I do not like the nose on the '97 CW compared to the '98-'01 cars.

Testers seem to get better performance out of the '00 and '01 cars than they got out of the earlier cars. This is, however, probably because the magazine testers finally learned how to launch an FF car with a Torsen axle. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

If I were buying one right now, I'd get a '98-'99 (CDM) CW, or an '00-'01 black one.

Just personal preference.

Re: (George Knighton)

George, How difficult would it be to go to canada, buy a ITR and drive it back to the states? Would we need a lot of paperwork?

I've seen whats required bringing a us spec car to canada, but very little on the opposite.
