steering column squeak

I'm getting sort of a low toned squeak when I turn my steerign wheel to the right sometimes like if I'm turning it more then one revolution it makes the sound... but it steers fine. my friend said the joint there or whatever it woudl be called within the steering column just need lubricant cus I think she had the same problem.. anyone else have or had this problem?
