shifter bushing: Mfactory, Mugen, Hardrace, or OEM?

Re: shifter bushing: Mfactory, Mugen, Hardrace, or OEM?
Energy suspension is fairly cheap as well.
You're talking about the main two, correct? The circular one that attaches the shift rod to trans and the rectangular one that is near the shifter under the chassis ?
If so, can't go wrong with energy suspension(polyurethane)
I've also heard "dimes performance" Billet ones were good too, but no experience with them...
As for mugen, they include one that energy suspension/dimes performance doesn't include and I believe it's under the shift boot (in the cabin). And the kit should be a harder durometer rubber than oem rubber.
I believe spoon is just a harder durometer as well but is only 2 pieces, the same pieces as the poly energy suspension kit & dimes performance kit.

The polyurethane bushings made the shifter feel notchy and you can feel a lot of vibration through the shifter to the shift ****, fresh oem bushings and a short shifter is a good mix for me

Typically would not recommend hard race but have been using their kit and have no complaints. Tightens up shifter play significantly.

the hardrace and the mfactory seem very similar, I went with the mfactory piece. I feel the vibrations on my shifter occasionally, and it is a bit notchier, but i cant complain.

On my gsr, the skunk2 itr weighted shift **** + energy suspension 2 piece kit made shifting felt alot better, especially when full throttle power shifting.
However, when I bought a bnib itr transmission, things were especially tighter. I guess the input shift selector (the one the shift linkage changer connects to on the trans, was loose or something.. can't go wrong with oem..
When I changed from oem to energy suspension, my oem rubber was perfectly fine. I also changed the "guts" of the shifter where it connects to the linkage under the chassis.

I live in cali, so polyurethane deterioration wasn't a concern, unlike east coast salt laid snowy roads..
I wanted minimal movement so I went with poly. However, if Billet ones were available back then I would have went with that.
But on my 45k OG mile ITR, It's completely stock and feels great as is, no need to change anything.
The gsr shift linkage with the extra "weighted portion" on the rear might influence why it feels better with a weighted shift **** + poly bushing kit..

Re: shifter bushing: Mfactory, Mugen, Hardrace, or OEM?
I went with Mugen back in the day because I was doing all the bushings in the car so wanted to keep it consistant. If I were doing it all over again today I'd probably just go with OEM.

Another vote for Energy. Had it when I still had the B series and I really liked the improvement in feel.
