Default Release Bearing?

I replaced my clutch last week with an all OEM parts (Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate, Release Bearing, and Pilot Bearing). I lubed the Release Bearing & associated parts per the Helm's but did not use the special Honda grease, instead I used Valvoline semi-sythetic hi-temp grease.

Now when idling with the car out of gear and the clutch out, I get a whirring noise. When I depress the clutch, the noise goes away. Did I use the wrong grease on the release bearing or is something else wrong?

I already did a search and came up with nothing fwiw....

&^(&$#!!! That doesn't sound good at all!!!

I'm assuming, since my Helm's is not in front of me, that replacing the Input Shaft Bearing requires complete dissambly of the gearbox <head hits desk>. Crap!

transmission input shaft bearing is gonna die...
