Mechanical failures and factory warranty disputes
I am interested to know of those who have had mechanical failures that were not there fault and have been screwed over by the dealership. What I mean by 'screwed over' is that they say something, but you are unable to prove otherwise.
This poll does not apply to aftermarket enhancements and failures related to those particular mods, i.e. melted pistons, big cams and bent valves, etc etc.
And finally, if you had the oppurtunity and technical support to show that the failure was not your fault, would you be prepared to use that?
Please be honest, I am trying to assess an application.
Thanx.

Re: Mechanical failures and factory warranty disputes (2fcknfst)
Bought the recent R in March of 2001. The following month, threw a rod bearing while in 5th, going down the road around 45mph. The dealer wasn't going to do anything, until we called Acura staff. However, I was extremely pleased with how they handled the situation. The results yielded a new, NOT REBUILT, bottom end and...
2 pairs of foglamps (We had 2 R at the time.)
1 car cover
He also offered free service for life but guess what? I will never and I repeat never take my car for service at a dealer again. It's just not going to happen. I must admit I was quite shocked at the fact that occured with just 800 miles on the odo.
