Re: Ignition Control Module Verification: Autozone (Haleiwa-Brando)
Personally, I'm not too wild about aftermarket ignition components on Hondas, lifetime warranty or not. I'd go OEM. I once bought an Autozone ignition coil for a Civic hatch, it went out less than 2 weeks later, replaced again with OEM and no further trouble. Just my .02.

Just for fun, if it is wrong, take it back nationwide under warrantee. Make sure it does not say OKI on it. Call a Honda dealer and ask about the ICM update several years ago, was the old style brown or black, dont buy the old color. A bad ICM can also take out a good coil too.

OEM icm is expensive. I'm rocking an aftermarket one with no problems.

Re: Ignition Control Module Verification: Autozone
And the Hitachi ICM that Autozone sells for our cars is exactly the same as OEM.
You CAN buy OEM and OEM quality parts at Autozone, (and others...but I'm biased...).
Also, If I'm not mistaken, he lives in Hawaii and therefore returning it later might be a bit difficult.
I can't convince store ops yet to put a store in Hawaii....I think they think the IT guys just want a free vacation to "help setup the computer".

all 92-01 honda and acura icm are all the same. only the rear mounting brackets will be different...connector points are the same aswell. using my friend '99 teg ls icm in my '92 civic hatch. see if a '92 civic icm is cheaper?
also on the generic ones the mounting points will be on the bottom like yours. so you will only have 1 screw holding it on.
oh and that red rubber thingy on the oem ones. is nothing, i ripped my old one out and still not sure why its there
