In the US did the integra Type R ever come out in 1999?

Im sorry I dont read japanese even though I would like to lol. I know japan made an Integra Type-R in 1999 but did the US make a Type R in 1999?

You must be referring to an imaginary ITR. No ITR's were made in the U.S.

No. There were only 318 sold in the US for 1997. 1,023 for 1998 and the rest were black and yellow for 2000 & 2001. 3,845 Total.

Friend of mine who has had his 1997 ITR since the day it was new, says the dealership was telling everyone there was only 750 1997 ITR's.

Not sure if that means in NA, but either way, many more than 318.

Pretty sure hes wrong. After much research and running all itr vins iirc its been determined that 318-320 97's were made. Sense we know that 3,845 were made in NA you can work backwards as well.

That letter you posted is fine and dandy, but I am talking about Canada and the United States at minimum. Not JUST the united states.. I'm from CANADADADADA and that info was provided by a Canadian Acura dealer...

Regardless, that still leaves us with more than 318 1997 ITR's made for our domestic market... being North America. Which seems to be what the major fuss is in this thread.

But you - YOU - were replying to a post, which you quoted, that states numbers sold "in the U.S." So YOU aren't bothering to read the posts you're responding to here.

We don't know how many were sold in Canada. If you want to do the research to find out and then post the numbers here, go ahead. But if you post again trying to continue an argument you started because YOU didn't read the post you were replying to, your post is going to be deleted and you're not going to be posting here again for a while.

My original quote wasnt argumentative, it was complimentary if anything.

The subject of this thread is to determine the total number of R's made, doesn't specify a region, but there seems to be a lot of interest in this thread directed North American ITR production numbers.

Sorry, but they were wrong. There were 572 FBP '00 ItR's sold in the US as well as another 517 '01 NBP US ItR's sold.


No, actually less the 3,900 were produced, and even less were sold to the public.

There are 34 unused badge numbers in the 1997 North American Integra Type-R badge range. The 1997 badges range from 00001 through 00514. Below are the unused ones.

Here is the sales info given to me by Acura. *SALES* meaning what they sold to the public. They also had their tech school cars and race cars, which weren't registered until years later. I was given total sales per month, and total by color. Then I was given the list of 1997 badges in North America that werent' used.

But when you look at the numbers it gets a little odd. 500+ badge numbers and only 34 un-used numbers.

So reading that, 480 cars badged. 320 sold to the public, did they really have 160 badged offroad cars in 97?

On the first page of this thread, which was back in 01' i know, a guy said the first 50 in 97 were givin to race teams. This is not true, I am buying my buddies this week and its number is 00007.

The US and Canadian badge sequence are the same. If there were 480 cars, and there were 320 in the USA, then some simple subtraction would state that there were 160 Canadian R's in 1997. That may be where your confusion lies.

There is no correlation between badge numbers and production numbers if that is what you are trying to say. Your badge number proves nothing.
