fuel tank qustion

well i think i had this same issues a year or so back on a 90 civic i had.

the prob is my intake valves are gettin stuck open with some gummy .... something.

i had this prob on a 1990 civic sedan at work i pulled the head about 6 time and cleaned the valves and un stuck some yellow ish glue like stuff off of them we tested the fuel and it look to have some thing in it for sure we thought was sugar but now that i came acrosss it again on my typeR i think both cars from sittin the sealer in the gas tank is comeing off and stickin my valves open .

the fix for the last car a stem clean of the fuel tank and it still runs mint.

my typeR has been sittin aprt for a wile now and i just got her back up and runnin and well the fuel tank was empty to very low and the new fuel i put on top of it still smell like bad nasty gas.

i have to pull the head off but i alread got the valve cover off and three or four intke valves are stuck open .

any one have a similer issue?

Re: fuel tank qustion

Gunk makes an engine flush before an oil change..I've used it and it cleaned off alot grime that was all over my valve train.

it comes in a 1qt grey bottle..just a suggestion.

i been down tht road nd there is no intake treatment that works i know the only fix is to stem clean the tank flush the lines new filter injectors cleaned and hot tank the head. from the last civic that had this prob.

we tried all the treatmeants and i had to pull the head on the last car 6 times i dont want to go threw that again
