Re: (frankdatank)
I have used Uberdata and Crome. I like Uberdata but Crome has come out with some new things that are really helpful for beginner tuners. Plus he must have disassembled Hondata Rom Editor because It looks and feels very similar.
Also for those wanting to RTP (Real Time Program). Crome can do this with Xtronics Romulator, Uberdata currently cannot. Crome also works alot better with a GM 3bar map sensor.
Again not to discourage Uberdata because it is good too. One thing I love in Uberdata that no one else has is manual 2D adjustments. Uberdata also has better basemap support. Both programs are very easy to use.
Hondata is still a Superior product, but for those on a tight budget and looking to get better tuning instead of a cheap *** Ebay chip this is a good solution

Here is the latest...
Spent about 1.5 hours on yacks dyno at P-1, great facility.. we dyno'd FatBradster's R first, he has toda-C's with mild head work. He put down 150 on the Mustang Dyno. Jordo went next and put down UHHH 294 WHP, he spun the wheels in fourth.
I went next and with the stock ecu put down about 142 at the wheels. We installed the P28 which i had already burned the base map to. We ran a baseline and got 144. over the next hour we tweaked the whole fuel curve, changed crossover to 5200 and in the end had 149 at the wheels. I gained about 10-12 WHP in the mid, 6 HP across the entire rev range. we had a lean spike at 6200 which we were able to kill with a little more fuel.
Tuning was very easy, just highlight the throttle range you want to deal with then add or subtract fuel incrementally and do another pull. AFR doesnt range more than about 1 point from 0-8500 rpm. nice and flat sitting at about 13.4-14.2 across the range. The software is very easy to work with, The only thing i am trying to fix is a little rev bounce at idle between 1000-1500 rpm. The IVAC started throwing a code a few days before i tuned, and i cleaned the screen on it, but i still need to take it back off and clean it a little better. Hopefully that will clear up the idle issue. I have a nice base map and a very nice final map if anyone wants it as a starting point.

Re: (streetdreams02)
Seeing this thread again reminds me to get cracking on mine.
When you say there's no need to drop $500 on an 02 setup.....you're still buying the PLX controller? That's like $500 right there. It's late, maybe I'm just reading things wrong...

Re: DIY ECU tuning via Uberdata and or Crome VS. Hondata (Gee3)
A few differences I've noticed:
I really do like tuning in real-time. Since Uberdata doesn't have that feature, that sways me to using Hondata.
Uberdata has a MAP scalar, and one column more resolution than Hondata. Not a big deal for me.
Uberdata is only scaled to 8976 rpm, but it can extrapolate the rest. You just have to be a little more thoughtful about tuning it. Hondata goes to 10975rpm.
The Hondata 3-stage rev limiter can be changed on the fly with the set switch, but with Uberdata, you have to reburn a chip with the changes. That gets to be an issue if you're at the drag strip and need to make changes.

Cold idle enrichment doesnt work just so you know. You might have a bouncy idle until the car warms up.
Here is an article I did on The differences between the free editors http://www.boosted-hybrid.com/viewtopic.php?t=787

Re: (streetdreams02)
There is a shop here in the Tacoma area that tunes all the forced induction employee cars with Uberdata. I don't know what version they are using but they are tuning the cars while driving. Must be the latest version? Higher than 1.66? They rant and rave about the ease of use, and have hung around to watch them do it. It seems pretty easy.
Keep us posted on the write up!

Re: (Haleiwa-Brando)
I have a question that maybe someone can answer for me. I'm just getting into this tuning stuff and i'm getting the Greddy Emanage system this week and plan to hit the dyno next week. I understand that the greddy unit is more of a piggy back and i guess hondata is too. This uberdata sounds much like a piggy back system as well.. What are the benefits of going uberdata over the emanage system because i find the emanage system more affordable?

Re: (julow)
ok i might be wrong but i think hondata and uberdata are both stand alone and the greddy emange is a piggy back but idon't know what the greddy does but i know u can control alot of boost and ignition retards withboth hon. and uber.
