Default DC2 Recaros vs DC5 Recaros......

What would you guys prefer? I love the DC5 Recaros, but man they're quite pricey. Love that big *** RECARO stitch! I do want me a set, just gotta save some $$$$ before I get myself a set of JDM DC5 Red Recaros!

I had both. They both felt the same as far as seating. I would like to get a set of DC5 in black. But it's all up to you.

I also like the look of the dc5 recaros, right now I have a set of mitsu evo 9 recaros but hope to upgrade later to dc5 recaros.

If you like the big Recaro writing, why not just get a set of SRDs?

If you like the feeling of being hugged the whole time you are driving, get the Recaros. I like the feeling that I can still move around.

If all you are doing is regular driving, the USDM seats are plenty comfortable. If you want to do more aggressive driving(auto-x, track) and the USDM don't hold you in well(like me), look at the JDM R seats.

i love the feeling. I dd my car and the recaros make it so much more comfortable and then when taking those occasion hard turns its nice staying in place. I feel like it was such a nice investment into my car i would recommend them to everybody. I told my brother to first time i drove my car with them in that i feel like i gained 20whp because it really does make the driving expierence that much better then stock seats.

Overall i <3 recaros

They are practically same in size. Id be lying if i said one was more comfortable than the other. Its just a matter of choice in design.

I like the way the DC2R Recaros look a little better, but I would think it would be easier to find a clean set of DC5R Recaros because even the newest DC2 seats are going to be 7 years old. I would pick up either if I could find a really clean set.

Well i have a set of dc2/ek9 recaros and a set of recaro speeds (the newer version like the dc5) and the only difference i'd point out is that the speeds are slightly firmer but the both fit/hug the same way... They are both very comfortable!

its all matter of taste and being "period correct". both seats are essentially the same in ergonomic design except for the treatment of the headrest, harness guide and "RECARO" labeling.

Are the DC-5 ones bolt in? Or they do need DC-2 rails?

As long as you use DC2 Recaro rails (OEM or aftermarket), they will bolt in.

My old hatch with OEM DC2 rails.

As with everything else, progression is a must. The dc5 recaros are an updated version of the dc2r's. But lucky pointed out the major differences...

I'm sure they're the same, I just love the big RECARO stitch! The SRD's stitching is on the headrest and I don't like it as much. Like what most of you guys posted on here, it's all preference. But the JDM Recaros do hug you tightly. I know that I can't get any bigger or else I wouldn't fit in the seat. If you're a bigger guy, it'll be harder for you to fit in the seats......

Can't personally say I'd want one over the other (DC2 vs DC5)

However Recaro > USDM ITR seat.

If I was looking for perfection, and was keeping the car and/or prefered the USDM over the JDM's I'd be on it... however just looking for something to sell the car with. Wouldn't imagine you'd want to put $500 on top of your seats for mine... or would you?

Edit: ha found the answer to my question...

As for the thread, DC2>DC5 Recaros.

I've never had more comfortable seats than my Recaros. Bringing my car home when I bought it, I didn't get uncomfortable once despite the 600 mile drive on hard Toda suspension. Granted, I've never sat in OEM type-r seats, but I can assure that the Recaro's are beyond comfortable
