Re: DC Sports ITR Racecar
Hola Amigo!
My memory is foggy but I think it was originally raced by DC, then taz harvey (tracy honda dealership), then Glen Kawano (who also had a 97ITR). After that not sure what happened.
y shi - who wonders if rboosted has it secretly stored away along side his other racing ITRs

I seem to remember that Brian Casella from NASA NE had two of them and raced in HC?

I still own the car. It's in hibernation and needs some TLC. I have heard talk about a race series for vintage World Challenge cars, and this car would be perfect for that.
Man, the things you find when you randomly google yourself. Like this thread!

Re: DC Sports ITR Racecar
Glen!!!! Joo may be the only guy whose ITR has been hibernating longer than mine! This takes a lot of pressure off of me!
Not sure if it began life as a DC car - I think it did - guy named Monterubio(?) had one that was red last time I saw it (at Sears Point WC) in the early 2000's.
Scott, whose ITR is "in the way" of his other motorsports hardware...that's not right....

Scott Rinde!! I still remember your crazy Mugen N1 suspension. I'm glad to see fellow old timers are still around. Oh yeah, I remember the Monterubio guy who had the other DC car. He did paint it red to suit his sponsors. Who knows where it is now. Sadly, my car was also repainted after body work, and now I regret the crappy colors I chose. I really want to paint it again and do a full body wrap to get it back to the original vintage DC Sports livery. It seems like the right thing to do.
However, I have not had the time or energy to work on the car, so if anyone wants to buy a real vintage World Challenge car, contact me for more info.

Glen - do you have any interior shots of the cage or suspension equipment? I can't recall where I heard this (I'll have to check my notes) but I vaguely recall hearing that either the cage or suspension components were sourced from European racing teams, specially the ones that supplied parts for my yellow race car and built/raced my white car at Spa and the Belgian Procar series. I'll shoot you a PM.

Re: DC Sports ITR Racecar
I don't think Fosstech(?), the Belgians, built the DC Sports ITR's...but I don't know who did. I do know they did nice work in both design and execution.

Rboosted717, as I'm sure you're aware, I sent you an email brain dump with a bunch of info on the car.
Thanks Scott--you have much more detailed pictures than what I have of my own car!

Gansan:
Is your car the same as the two that were shown in an article in Sport Compact Car way back when? Those two had 97 front ends but maybe by the time you got it, it was updated to the 98 style?
y shi - who's just curio and would like to see & take pix of the car when he's in san diego...which is somewhat often

However, I don't know which of the two cars it is, because I'm sure the bumper cover has been replaced many times since then.

Re: DC Sports ITR Racecar
Hi Glen,
Your car is number 89. Glad to see you still have the car- they are a cool piece and are going to be vintage cars soon! In fact PD Cunningham restored a RealTime ITR WC Touring car for own vintage racing program.
I recently chased down and bought back my other car DC Sports built the #34 that I raced in World Challenge after I bought them from the Contreras Bros ( DC Sports ). It is basically a unibody and a roll cage, as the parts were lost in a fire at the Tech2 shop a decade ago. The tub will need a lot of TLC to get back to shape and I want to go back to the original DC Sports livery like on your car. I have some pictures from the era but I am glad your car stayed in somewhat original paint since I sold it to you. I also found the original DC Sports graphics for the sides.
This will be a long project I can tell as I have to round up a ton of parts to get it back original and some ore going to be hard to find.
I am back into racing after taking off a decade or more and have switched back to SCCA road racing in a Mazda RX7 GT3 and a MX5 GTL car. We also squired the COMPTECH Acura Spice GTP car that I will drive in the Monterey historics this year.
Glad I found this thread!
