Car and Driver
Have you seen the aug. Car and Driver? They didn't compare the RSX type S and current Type R in any detail, except for the 1/4 time. They said that the type S blew the Type R times in the 1/4. They ahve the Type R as 15.2 in the 1/4, and the Type S as 14.8. I can see them doing a 14.8 in the type S...but what the hell were they doing during the 1/4 run for the R.
just venting...

Re: Car and Driver (TypeRvtec18)
This has been discussed before. It seems the car and driver people launched in second gear and simply used a stop watch to time the R. We know that with a decent driver the R can definately do better than 15.2.

I think all you R owners are HATERS!
The RSX type S is a well engineered vehicle.
I understand pride of ownership,but don;t hate.
you all know that RSX type S motor is NICE!
P.s. no i don;t have a RSX nor plan on getting one

Re: Car and Driver (NBP ITR 01-622)
All these magazines totally skew the real facts when they write their articles.
Didn't they have an article last year that said the ITR runs 14.6 at 95mph?
They purposely make whatever car they are reviewing look better.
Its horseshit.
Not just car and driver, all the magazines do this.
We are not haters. The bottom line is that the Type R is a more solid car than
the RSX type S. Many of us appreciate the car but these unfair comparisons need to stop. Apples to Oranges.

Re: Car and Driver (itr--779)
I wasn't saying the Type S was poorly engineered...i'm just mad that C/D compared the times and said that the type S times are noticeably faster than the R. And, i too am getting tired of the comparisons between the two cars. Yes the Type S may be as quick as the R with a good driver, but the R is a true course car. Thats why the built the car...

Re: Car and Driver (Type R 1090)
If I remember correctly, Car & Driver's Type R test car had maybe 200 or 300 miles on it. Not even close to making full power yet. And since they did the test in Japan, their best test driver was unable to go.

Re: Car and Driver (ITR-01-269)
Just using logic, the rsx has the same hp, its heaver, no limited slip lower redline, and the tires aren't as sticky. Unless the 6-speed in magical, it doesn't make sence that it could be as fast.
