After 3 years of owning the ITR, I am awoken at 5:00 am to the sound of my alarm...
 

This happened yesterday...

I was working on a table in the garage the other night so the I left the ITR parked outside of the garage, not bright I know but it was late.

My wife wakes me up and says my alarm is going off. I look at the time and it's just before 5:00 am, shit. I don't have a gun so I grab the biggest kitchen knife I could find and run downstairs where I find my alarm blazing.

On the onset, everything looks ok with the car. Upon closer inspection, I find that the hood has been popped. I feel my fender liner and it's loose. Dammit, looks like it's time to relocate that cable.

I talked to my neighbor and asked if he saw or heard anything. He said that when he heard my alarm and looked outside he didn't see anything....until he saw me run out to the car with a big ass knife. Moral of the story, park the ITR in the garage if you have one.


Cliff notes: Parked car outside, thieves tried to popped the hood and are scared away from the alarm

Good job, but they will be back. I'd definitely follow Rob's advice, leave your R outside on purpose, wait in the bushes with a few friends, then lynch the thieves when they come back. Would it violate forum rules to post pics of some messed up thieves?

Does anyone know the name of the site that has the DIY instructions for relocating the hood latch. I did a search but couldn't come up with anything.

If you haven't already, you really need to relocate that hood wire and install a fuel cutoff switch. Its good to see though a thief who is scared of an alarm. Probably low rent thieves, so get the posse!
